Our team at FIRSTCALL understand that following a devastating loss to your home can be a very trying and discouraging time in your life. We have worked with thousands of homeowners who have gone through similar experiences and we have created processes to help ease the anxiety and possible frustrations of working with insurance carriers and other vendors that may be at your home trying to lend a hand. Because every insurance claim is handled differently due to the amount of damage, the insurance carrier, and the customer’s needs, we can’t tell you exactly what to expect, but we can promise you that we are here in your time of need to help in whatever way possible. We want to serve you.
Following your initial call to us, we will be to your home ASAP if necessary. We will help walk you through all the item that you may or may not have thought of.
Will you need temporary housing?
Do your cash, jewelry, or firearms need to be secured?
Is the home winterized in colder months?
Are the pets safe?
Is the home secured?
If not an emergency or once the emergency needs are handled… We will schedule an initial visit to survey the damages, take photos, and get all the pertinent information required.
We will write an estimate (Scope of Work). We will work with the Insurance carrier to come up with an agreed upon Scope of Work and approved dollar amount. It is very possible that you will never have an insurance adjuster visit your property. Typically, unless you experience a “large loss”, most claims are handled by the contractor using photos and pre-agreed pricing.
Once the estimate has been approved by the insurance carrier and you have chosen to work with FIRSTCALL, our Estimator will assign your project to one of our talented Project Managers. They will both meet with you to discuss scheduling of the job as well as other important job related information.
Our Project Managers work with well trained employees and trusted trade contractors to complete your restoration project. They manage the schedule and keep you informed regularly of progress and any changes to the schedule that may arise during construction. They will also work with you if there are any changes you may desire to make to your home or business during the construction process.
Your restoration project is not complete until you have signed a Certificate of Satisfaction (COS). We send the COS to the insurance carrier which prompts them to release your final payment. Why is this important? You have peace of mind that your job will be completed with quality and to your satisfaction. You and your Project Manager will do a walk through. Assuming you are satisfied, you will sign the COS and we take care of the rest. Shortly after that, any allowance or Change Order charges or credits will be finalized.
