During these cold winter months we want to share some tips on preventing frozen pipes. If you have cabinets with exterior plumbing make sure you leave the cabinet doors open to prevent trapped cold air. Also, turning on water connected to exterior plumbing every hour can prevent the water from freezing. Make sure you open heat registers in basements or the lower levels of your house to ensure warm air is flowing. Keep garage doors closed so you don’t let in any unwelcomed cold air. Lastly, make sure you keep your thermostat above 55 degrees F. By taking these tips into precaution, you will help prevent frozen pipes from occurring in your household.
